Scott Murray
I have over 27 years and 4 Million miles of driving experience, most being in Class 8 trucks, which are also called Semis, Big Rigs, Large Cars, and a few choice un-publishable phrases. Most of those miles were accumulated running Over-The-Road (OTR) from coast-to-coast in these glorious United States of America. I visited Mexico once and purchased a sombrero, and Canada many times.
Currently, I drive a Fuel Tanker for a company out of Greeley, Colorado. We acquire most of the gas and diesel from facilities in Commerce City, just outside of Denver. I will usually run a load up into the mountains, going over Loveland Pass, Vail Pass, Fremont Pass, Berthoud Pass, or Rabbit Ears Pass to the various destinations.
It is from having gone all over the country, and spent so much time in the mountains, that gives me the expertise in the trucking industry, as well as what works for automobile drivers. I have taken all this experience and put it to use as an expert witness in the field of transportation, and as a writer. I like to joke that I'm a smart truck driver: Not only do I know how to read, I also know how to write!
I wrote for the Greeley Tribune in Greeley, Colorado for 10 years, have my own blog, and a book: Trucker's Tales, Semi Non-Fiction, published by Tate Publishing:http://www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore/book.php?w=1-5988690-0-0
So Happy Motoring, and keep the rubber side down!
